WATERLOO REGION
Waterloo Region is a mid-sized community located in the heart of southwestern Ontario’s greenbelt. With a population of more than 630,000 people, Waterloo Region is one of the fastest growing areas in Ontario: a large urban centre, with the charm and character of a smaller rural community.
Each of our three cities offers its own unique attractions.
Cambridge has a rich cultural history reflected in the picturesque limestone buildings lining the Grand and Speed Rivers.
Kitchener, the Region’s largest city, is a hub of urban activity. Small businesses and start-ups make up a large portion of the workforce helping to drive the culture of innovation.
Waterloo is home to two of the highest-ranked universities in the country and attracts some of the best and brightest talent from around the world.
Elementary schools provide Kindergarten programs (for children aged 4 and 5) and programs for Grades 1 through 8.
Elementary school placement for our Waterloo Region International Student Programs is limited to school availability. The Waterloo Catholic District School Board will make every attempt to find a school close to where the student will be living in the Waterloo Region.
