ICP – Summative Portfolio
The International Certificate Portfolio
This final step provides evidence that you have completed all the requirements to be presented with the WCDSB International Certificate. After successfully completing all three of the required certificate components, this final task is an opportunity to demonstrate, showcase and reflect upon your commitment as a global citizen. You will be provided with a rubric that will be used to assess your portfolio.
Portfolio Presentation
This task showcases your achievements and synthesizes your learning and experience in a way that suits your individual interests and skills. With support from your school’s International Certificate Advisor and/or the Principal of International Education, possibilities for this task may include:
- PowerPoint or Slide Deck presentation
- a video product (i.e. slide show with narration, Claymation movie, animation, live action, etc.) (3 – 5 minutes)
- an artistic creation (original song, dance, visual art creation – accompanied by some form of text explaining your creation)
- something else of your choosing with approval from the International Certificate Advisor
You will present your ICP journey to younger ICP students, junior language classes and/ or another audience. Presentations will be approximately 10-15 in length in which you discuss the Reflection questions below and answer the following question:
“Why is being a globally informed citizen important in today’s world?”
Your presentation should also answer the following reflection questions:
- what you’ve learned and discovered about yourself, the world and others as you’ve journeyed through the ICP;
- how you’ve grown as a global citizen and why that is important in today’s world;
- how each component influenced your thinking about international issues and global citizenship;
